an afternoon craft with homemade cornstrach clay, idea straight from the pages of a magazine with our interpretations. this tiny reindeer of margaret's was my favorite.
keeping healthy, balanced and happy with the help of some green smoothies throughout the season, drank through my favorite glass smoothie straw.
some minimal gift making & assembling action on the living room floor. the intention was set early on to maintain simplicity this december and our days' activities and projects reflected that.
an evening in together, making sugar cookies and having some cheer.
sweet little homemade tags on christmas morning, from chuck, to margaret and me. (even sweeter when they were wrapped around things like some mast brothers chocolate and a new (and of course filled) patagonia resusable gift bag!)
the blizzard.
and now here we are in the new year. happy 2011! looking back, we really did have a peaceful, simple december yet stilled plenty filled with warmth and family togetherness. enjoying the moments of organic candy canes, little white lights, secretive sewing, peppermint tea, wintery blanket fort building, bacon-chocolate pancakes, observing the lunar eclipse and even the oddly-timed installation of a new roof over our heads... just to think of a few... these are the small moments that came together to shape the season and make it what it was... december 2010. simple with intention.
it was along these lines that a few of our gift giving ideas came to be... handmade gifts that were pretty fun and crafty to make right here at home and very much a joy to give. i'm planning on sharing these projects here in one more holidayish post and then it is onwards to the fresh new days of january.
here's to a great new year.
