first to recap: a few months ago i posted about a kids mini craft swap that i signed up for through the blogworld. margaret and i were paired up with our partners, we got crafty, we sent out some stuff and then also received some very crafty, fun stuff. what amy and zach came up with was a total surprise. a package filled with everything a girl could need to play school from beginning to end — all grouped and labeled "for recess", "for lunchtime", "for the teacher", etc... to say that there was some attention to detail would be quite an understatement. i'll try to do the best i can to share this super imaginative creation that was a super big hit here...
for lunchtime...
some serious old sweater magic. a lunchbox filled with some felt cookies, sandwich fixin's (its all there — lettuce, cheese tomatoes, sliced bread and even a slice of lunchmeat) and an apron!!! a sweet wooden juice box and an apple. this alone was such a creative idea i think. margaret of course loves it too. but wait, there was more...
for the teacher...
a chalkboard, a homemade wooden pointer, a portable box filled with teacher supplies, and that real old-time bell! so cool. i love the little bits of real supplies that the teacher can use to make little important teacher-like things such as the following example:
for reading time...
lesson and reading books. abcs and pirates.
for recess...
yes, even recess. i do not have a photo but there was a jump rope that has already found it's way outside for use. see what i mean about all the smart little details?
i hope i'm not forgetting anything. it has been a few months since we actually received everything. once again i'm really glad that we signed up. on our end we got to learn a little more about whales and making fabric face masks while putting together our box and then having the chance to recive such a great surprise of felt food and school supplies. thanks to molly for putting mini-swap together and thank you so much to amy and zach for sending us this amazing homemade classroom in a box. we love it and appreciate it. class dismissed.
