w is for water filter.
after months of waiting in its box our water filter for the kitchen sink has been installed. copper pipes were cut, water was turned off and back on, and by the end of the afternoon cool filtered h2o was flowing from our faucet's new side-kick tap. this is something that we've been wanting to set up for a while now, but haven't exactly had the time to do, until today. good for the planet and good for us on a hot — really hot — summer day.
w is for wading.
while the water filter was being installed by chuck on the homefront, i kept busy by bringing margaret to meet up with friends at a little beach/preserve (one i've never been to before) where the water was calm and rocky and the mamas and little ones waded out up to our knees to keep cool...
w is for where did this guy come from?.
a surprise visitor growing on our back stoop... a wee arugula plant. was he carried there by a bird? the wind? or could it have been the time margaret and i accidentally spilt that pack of seeds out there? hmmmmm....
