it all happened so fast. it started out innocently with us just going out in the yard to feel the warmth of the sun. then i started looking at the flower garden. i decided it was time to just maybe pick a few dead stems leftover from last year. then i needed my clippers. then i started clearing more out and well, of course then i got out the gardening gloves. then the old brown leaves were in the way, and so i broke out my rake/cultivator. next thing i knew i was gardening outside for the first time this year. it was great to really be there in the garden, repositioning rocks, pulling up maple tree sprouts, checking out the new peony growth and just getting in touch with our little bit of earth today. margaret helped out for a bit, digging up dirt and moving around my rocks and shells... it was so sunny and springlike out that i let her have her grilled cheese al fresco on the back steps, which she loved. there is plenty more to do with the earth out in the garden and yard... and today was just the start.
so now its friday night... the weekend is here... the sun should be shining the next few days... and people all around will join hands and sing, celebrating the earth. (something like that at least, right?). let the weekend begin.
